On February 4–5, mareXtreme took part in the first Marine Transdisciplinary Conference in Kiel, hosted at the Marine Science Campus Kiel of Kiel University (Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel).
The invitation was extended by the Center for Ocean and Society and Kiel University, bringing together representatives of all three DAM missions — CDRmare, SustainMare, mareXtreme — along with other stakeholders for an intensive exchange on transdisciplinarity in marine projects.
Particularly valuable was the dialogue among partners from PrimePrevention, ElbeXtreme, METAscales, and MULTI-MAREX, who shared their experiences with the other DAM missions and further developed joint perspectives. mareXtreme actively contributed to several sessions and workshops, providing input from both research and practice.

A highlight was the keynote by mareXtreme speaker Prof. Dr. Beate Ratter, who outlined the factors that determine the success of transdisciplinary projects.

The program concluded with short live demos from mareXtreme, featuring immersive scenarios that showcased dynamic virtual environments and made the potential of innovative visualization in marine research and scenario development tangible.
